Meeting Arzu Kaprol

Hello everyone, my name is Sara and I study Business Administration at the European School of Economics.

I have always had a particular interest in the fashion field in all its aspects.

I had the pleasure of doing my Smart Internship with the brand Arzu Kaprol, in which I had the task of understanding how to internationalize the brand, focusing on the potential launch of the brand in the Italian market. The Turkish stylist Arzu Kaprol kindly opened the doors of her atelier to me, and gave me the opportunity to interview her.

Q: Hello Arzu, to start off this interview, I would like to know more about your background. Where do you come from? What sparked your interest in fashion?

I was raised in a family of very talented women. My grandmother and my mother were both amazing couturiers. My only dream has always been to become a fashion designer. Then, after finishing my degrees in fashion design in Istanbul and in Paris, I was lucky enough to earn prestigious awards and start my career at a very young age.

Q: What is it that differentiates your brand from others?

All Arzu Kaprol collections are created with fine details and workmanship. Signature details define the special appearance of my clothing pieces and the silhouette of them is futuristic and architectural. My aim is to create happiness with my designs, to make each customer of mine feel free and pleased with the way I dress them.

Q: Your drawings are based on a futuristic perspective, from whom or what do you get inspiration?

I get my inspiration through my travels, my friends, my life experiences, movies I watch or even from a sound, everything can be an inspiration.

Q: What is your target customer and what do you expect from your brand?

I envision a happy, free, modern, confident and super joyful woman when I start sketching my pieces. I picture my models happy while wearing my unique designs, since, as I said, this is my ultimate purpose.

Q: What do you think is the key to launch a successful collection in a new market?

In my opinion, an unexpected design language, a perfect fit of the clothing pieces and most of all making people feel great in the design is the key to make the difference in a new market. But all the new marketing trends, all the designs in every industry should have the aim to speak to the clients’ hearts and solve a problem by touching the real world and its problems. Each collection should be a living entity in my opinion. Only with this approach it can make the difference.

Q: Last question, what is your motto?

Always dreaming!
