Q: What comes to your mind when you think about the concept of sustainability?
Sustainability means future: a new vision, a different lifestyle, conscious acts and a new democratic and inclusive world where fashion is good and ethical.
Sustainability is not only circular and green economy, it’s also a disruptive way to live: new consumer behaviour, a holistic approach to consumption, different business models and a visionary approach to production and process.
We believe in a different world, and we assume that sustainability is the key to this.
Q: The POW-WOW Fashion Tech Week is the first Italian week on the theme: why this idea and what have been your greatest achievements so far?
Fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries are changing, and we are trying to catch up with this, but it’s hard to understand. Suddenly, we forget that society runs faster than our minds and innovation is something happening now that has to be grabbed on the fly.
PowWow is the virtual place where the future happens: we believe in change and in a real, tangible revolution that is transforming this industry. With this event, we would like to tell everything that is being born and that in the coming years, will revolutionize the way we see the industry. But above all, we try to open the doors of a world that is loved but little known: we want to make it accessible to all.
Q: Can you reveal who the 2021 edition speakers will be, and why them?
We will have many international guests, world-renowned companies and visionaries who are shifting the paradigms of fashion. We talked to them and we chose them because they are the right ones to tell the Italian market what is changing and what we will live in the future. We have a large community that includes world renowned names, among the others: Kerry Murphy, Founder of The Fabricant; Jenny Izaguirre, Shopify Operations Manager; Muchaneta Kapfunde, Founding Editor-in-chief of Fashnerd.Com; Ashley Watton, Head of Marketing Uk & Ireland at Foreo; Leonardo Ranieri, Innovation Manager at Miroglio Group; Joana Lacerda, Director Of Impact At The PowerHouse; Jacopo Sebastio, Founder & Ceo of Velasca.
Q: Special projects or Plans for the future?
We have a dream: Fabrica Milano. A shared work space, a common factory, and a place where to create, produce and share materials, tools, and machinery but also professionalism without regard to minimums, numbers, and brands. And hopefully, we will meet in person for the next edition of POWWOW 2022!
